'm 26 years old and started having on/off neuro symptoms. I've had muscle spacticity/ridgity (sp?) For 5 or 6 years. Left lower side of my back was first. Now my whole back, muscles on both sides are completely rock hard and it hurts to move fast or to turn, well I guess anything moving those muscles is super hard to do and painful. I have decreased rom. My hamstrings are affected now. Over the years I've become generally more fatigued and weak. My brain doesn't work like it used to. I was so smart before. I'm generally clumsy and have balance and memory problems. Then something different happened this summer. I started having weird neuro symptoms come and go. numbness in face, when I tried to drink water it just ran down my face and I was slurring a little. I couldn't even see like at all. When I looked at someone's head I saw 2 heads really far apart. blurry/double vision and vertigo if I looked down. I don't remember one eye being worse. I tripped over my own feet way more often than usual. I barely got my nose on the neuro test at urgent Care and er. I mean I touched my nose just not the tip I kept getting the side and top lol. I would be speaking and stop mid sentence because I forgot what I was talking about. This lasted about a day each time. I would go lay down to try to make it go away and when I woke up it was still there. Then it slowly went away only lasted about a day each time it got that bad. I had it happen like 4 times since June. It seems neurological. But from what I've read Ms relapses last at least 24 hr to several days or weeks or forever even. And it only happens a few times a year. I'm seeing a pcp next month supposed to see a neurologist. Just wondering what people who actually know about MS more than me think. Not trying to self diagnose more like rule out. I did look up other problems like Ms and none of those fit my symptoms at all. I haven't really found anything yet that matches my symptoms lol so what do you think? Is there anything anyone knows of besides Ms that can cause my symptoms?

The facial numbness happened for the first time the last episode i had. It didn't happen the first couple times, in fact I think it gets worse every time it happens.

    Hi, I'm Gabrielle
I have had MS for about 6-7 years. Basically I will tell you that unfortunately MS can cause various symptoms. There is reliable test at this time to tell you 100% you have MS. In order to determine you have MS you need to rule out multiple other things. I have had alot of the symptoms you have had but that doesn't necessarily means its MS. You need to have other things ruled out. One of the diseases that mimics MS symptoms can be lyme disease. I don't know a lot about it but I know they tested me for that to rule it out. What you read online cannot always be reliable and MS has multiple symptoms. I heard of someone vomiting during a relaspe and thats it just uncontrollable vomiting. I don't want to give you false hope there are treatments if you do have MS but I suggest you follow up with a doctor as soon as possible so they can rule other things out get you into a neurolgist so you can start treatment so you don't have any residual or lasting symptoms that never go away. I don't know where you live but I suggest you go to a center that specializes in MS. You will need a brain MRI and possibly a spine MRI. They also will probably do blood work and other tests. What I am telling you though is not in place of seeing a doctor which is urgent you need to see someone to get a handle on what ever going on.

I wish you good luck. Advocate for yourself and never lose hope!

I was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis in late July of this year after a brain MRI came back showing lots of MS lesions and a spinal tap came back positive for high amounts of elevated protein 'o' bands. You can read through my profile and I list all of my symptoms if you'd like. I'd suggest an MRI of your brain and if MS lesions are present, I'd say have some bloodwork done (to rule out Lyme's disease for example) and then perhaps even a spinal tap if MS is suspected.
