Did they check your vitamin D levels? Mine were very low, and my neuro prescribed a high dose of vitamin d2 that I took for several weeks (maybe even a couple of months). After that, my levels were much improved so she told me to switch over to a normal dose of an over the counter daily vitamin d supplement. Vitamin D is very important in people wit MS, and many can be deficient in it.
I would, of course, always double check with your doctor with any concerns.

    Hello,

This is Steve with the National MS Society.

Here is a "clinical bulletin" written for health professionals regarding vitamin D.  We encourage you to share this information with your doctor and it may be a good place to start a discussion around supplements.

I hope this is helpful.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-344-4867 option 1.

    Take care,
