So, I'm having these headaches, but not really the kind of headache I'm used to.  It isn't the typical throbbing sinus pressure headache, or even stress related type.

I get these sharp pains that hit hard and fast, but really isolated in size.  Maybe the size of a quarter or a bit larger.  And hits hard enough for me to wince and my bf notice.  It's there for maybe....3-4 seconds?  Like a lightening bolt, it strikes then it's gone.  I almost feel as though birds are pecking at my head!

Anyone else have this issue?  Or is it a sign I'm about to stroke out....eek, bc that's what it feels like.  yikes.

Yes I know exactly what you are talking about I get them all the time. I can point to where the pain was in my head but its deep inside my brain somewhere and in different areas. Sometimes it lasts a little longer and feels like someone drilling in there.

    Hi Charliegirl78,

I have headaches too.  They are on a daily basis, and my doctors all say they are from MS and stress.  I take 4 sometimes 5 BC Powders a day, which is what I was told to take.  I get pains in my head that are over my eyes, on the sides of my head above my ears, in the back of my head, and sometimes all around.  They are sharp pains, and if I put pressure on the pain, most of the time it will go away, and closing my eyes and putting my head on the back of the chair helps too.  These are not sinus pains, because sinus medicine doesn't help.

I've described it the same way, as a drilling type pain.  Or like my head is in a vice grip.  eIther way, it hurts like the dickens! Do you take anything or have you talked to your doc about it yet?  I have an appt next week to discuss...Good luck to you and hope someone takes that drill away!

Wow, I have described my daily intense, annoying, life altering headaches the same way! Like there is a vice gripping my head. These have been daily for 5+ years now and the doctors do not seem to want to prescribe anything for it usually. I have tried triptans, Fiorcet, Lortab, Topamax etc, Nothing seems to help :(

    Hi there,

thanks for sharing your experiences with me.  I too stay with a headache.  I have gotten so used to it that for me, it's normal.  When I started a headached journal and the docs saw that it was everyday, they promptly informed me that no, it is not normal and no, I don't have to live that way.  But the MS thing has trumped the headache thing, so I'm not really being treated for the headache issue.  But these sharps pains are the pits!  I can be talking and having a lovely conversation and boom, it almost takes my breath away, I wince, then try to assure the person staring at me that I'm in fact, a-ok.  I can't do BC powders...oof, I salute you!  I do take some ibuprofen from time to time to help.  And putting pressure on them helps me as well.

Best wishes to you and I hope you are free and clear of these crazy attacks soon!
