I currently work a full time job, but they office is not handicap accessible. I have a gait and balance issue that makes climbing the stairs difficult, it's even harder going down the stairs. Heading into winter in PA I'm extremely nervous about this issue. I have problems on a sunny day day. I am leaving my job for multiple reasons, the stairs being one of the reasons, but also making the hour drive causes my driving leg to go numb, making me feel pretty unsafe. I'm able to work, but I'm looking for something part time, so I can focus on getting my walking and balance better. Also, something closer so I do not have to drive so far and worry about the numbness. Do you think I could get unemployment while I look for another job?

you gave notice already? Do you know that you can adapt your auto for manual controls? You may want to call the National MS Society to speak with a navigator about unemployment. A doctors note would help.

I hope you didnt quit before investigating your options. Have you tried braces for your legs or the stimulator?
