I have found tnat doing Tai Chi helps a lot with balance.  And I bought a Gazelle exercisor which helps improve my walking: improves stride and strength.

I hope you have better luck witih Ampyra than I have recently experienced.  It has been just about two months and I have not noticed anything different so far

Hi, have you been taking Ampyra?  I have been taking it for three or four months and I was hoping that it would help with my balance and that I also would be able to walk.  I was really wishing I could get back to "some kind of normal."  Unfortunately, that has not been the case.  I asked the infusion nurse about Ampyra and she said that is doesn't work for everybody.  What a bummer!   I have had secondary progressive MS for 7 years.   Carol

I have always kept up witih my exercises.  I also have been participating in the monthly infusions of Tysabri, I think it might be helping a little bit.  My neurologist has me on Ampyra, the so-called walking drug.  I had such high hopes that I would fiinallly be able to get around by myself, but after almost three weeks of daily doses I haven't noticed any differences except I get dizzy right after I take the Ampyra pill.

I recently have been told by my doctor that I need to switch to tysabri. I have been on Avonex and Rebif. But I have had 2 flare ups in the last 4 months.  . The ino I have read scares me. I am working full time. Any thoughts?

I know you posted over a year ago. I had to get a rollator this past year. I have canes, but no comparison. A rollator (which is a walker with wheels) is so much better, and safer. It has helped me tremendously. I hope this helps you,

Dr Eric Goodman came up with"Foundation Training", helping our bodies to redisciver how to stand using the proper muscles...it's truely amazing. Best part is the ex exercises can be modified fo your own personal needs, yet still effective!!

Try dancing and then walking backwards with a cane for balance!
