During the summer of 2011, I started riding bicycles for exercise. I was surprised to find that I fell in love with riding bikes. I soon found some biking groups to ride with where I met some wonderful bikers and I saw areas of Atlanta that I would not have seen if I had not started riding. I felt that I could use my new love of biking to help others. I realized that there was a bicycling team at work that would be riding in the 25th Anniversary ride of Bike MS in Georgia. That began my journey with the MS Society.
I decided that I would ride with Team Turner in the Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride 2011. It was more fun and more rewarding than I had imagined. This year I have committed again to ride in the Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride.
I did not know much about the disease of Multiple sclerosis (or MS). This caused me to begin to learn that MS is a chronic, unpredictable neurological disease that affects the central nervous system and that different people are likely to experience very different symptoms.
