Two weeks before my wedding (10/12/13) I was feeling off, walking funny and my vision was blurry. This was on a Saturday and I didn't think too much of it so I waited til Monday to go see my doctor. Well by then it had gotten worse... I basically kind of felt paralyzed on my right side; I lost all function on my right side. Blurry vision, I wasn't able to use my right hand/arm and I was not able to walk because my right leg wouldn't work. I was worried but never in a million years did I think it could have been MS. I thought I possibly had a bad pinched nerve and/or a bad migraine... I didn't know it at the time but I was experiencing my first MS flare up... It was horrible, and I was freaking out. It was terrible timing too, I had sooo much to do for the wedding and I couldn't do anything. My doctor was very concerned, he had me do a CT scan right away... they saw something in the CT scan so they had me do a MRI on my brain. Once those results came in, my doctor called me into his office, sat me down and told me I had MS. He started me on steroid treatments right away and referred me to an MS specialist. The steroids helped me to be able to walk and be somewhat normal by my wedding day. I was just so thankful that I was able to walk down the aisle on my wedding day. I saw the specialist right away and after my first appointment with him he said there was a 7o% chance I had MS so at the end of last year and the beginning of this year he had me do a lot of tests... multiple MRI's, lots of blood tests and a spinal tap. He then fully diagnosed me with mild to moderate RRMS on January 20th 2014.
