I was diagnosed in September 2009 at the age of 28. I was inspired to fight and accept my diagnosis because in January of 2009, I lost my 2 year old nephew, Dante, to his battle with Neuroblastoma. If a 2 year old can fight cancer, I can surely deal with MS. Since my diagnosis, I became interested in Walk MS, and started my own walk team, One Mile Closer. Our first year walking was 2011, and we walked at Parvin State Park, in Pilesgrove, NJ, with 14 people and a 7 1/2 week old puppy. This year, in 2012, we walked again... Our team grew to 35 people and our people became a dog. He is also a registered walker. Next year, the team, the awareness, and the fundraising WILL grow! I should do this because I CAN. I do it for the people who can no longer do what I am still physically able to do!
