Hello! My first encounter with MS was in 2002, after a very difficult time with gallbladder surgery. Within 2 weeks I was unable to get out of bed without help and could not stand without the aid of a walker or crutches. I had cognitive issues and mood changes. My doctors back then blamed it on the hard surgery and one even suggested it was mental. With a few relapses in the last 15 yrs, it has once again surfaced in full bloom. I am currently seeing a great team of doctors and have my first MS neurologist specialist appointment in day. For now, the stress of wondering what stage I am at is a bit anxiety ridden, but all I can do is take it day by day, as most others do. It's really a life changing experience and very difficult at times to express what this means to family members and sometimes even your own spouse. I hope for better days ahead for everyone who suffers from this invisible, yet debilitating disease.
