My Story 0 Appreciate this

In April 2014, my mom was bitten by a cat at her work. The bite severed a tendon in her left hand and she developed a septic infection. After 5 days in the hospital, a month of IV antibiotics, and major surgery to repair her tendon, she began a downward spiral that has culminated in overwhelming fatigue, inability to sleep more than 2-3 hours a night, and the inability to walk without a cane. After months of doctors appointments and three different, incorrect, diagnoses, we finally received a diagnosis of MS yesterday from her neurologist. I am unsure, at this point, how I truly feel about this. I'm relieved to finally have a diagnosis and that it isn't a brain tumor or any of the other horrific things I conjured up in my mind, but am terrified about what this means for my mom and her future and for my family. I would like to hope that there are treatments that can help her regain her quality of life...
